Split racing record to own article
[edit]I saw the Juan Pablo Montoya article and noticed that his "racing record" section is separated into its own article. So, is anyone interested in separating the "racing record" section in this article into "Career results of Fernando Alonso"? F1fans (talk) 01:30, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- Why? I'm not sure such a split would be appropriate or in the readers best interest. Yes, this article is very large, and yes, it could do with a split, but moving all his results to a separate page doesn't seem the best way to go about it. Surely a better split would be Formula One career of Fernando Alonso - then we can also move the race-by-race results for Alonso's F1 career there and only have the broad season summary here. Because the big problem with Montoya's articles at the moment is that tables of results are best viewed with the context of prose about those results, and the prose is best viewed the context of the results (in my opinion). So I don't think the way Montoya's articles is split is a good way to go about it. SSSB (talk) 10:32, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

In his 'Personal life' section, change: He is 174 cm (5'9") tall
to: He is 171 cm (5'6") tall
The current information shows an incorrect conversion of cm to feet/inches, and the height in cm shown is *only* shown in the cited source and nowhere else. Therefore, also change the source to any of the links below:

Incorrect points
[edit]The total F1 points amased by Fernando Alonso is 2325 and not 2323 as stated in the article, the editor forgot to add 2 points to the total after his promotion from 9th postion to 8th position following the disqualification of George Russell at the 2024 Belgian GP, The racing record of Fernando adds upto 2325 points and so does the official F1 website also acknowledges the number of 2325, so the updated number for Fernando Alonso's total F1 points would 2325 and not 2323. 2001:569:FE24:6600:9888:DA09:C6AB:102 (talk) 19:43, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
Fixed He was credited with the two extra points following Russell's disqualification from the Belgian GP - see this edit, but we must have missed 2 points somewhere else along the line. Thanks for pointing out the error. DH85868993 (talk) 21:57, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

24.189.101.162 (talk) 00:37, 25 April 2025 (UTC) Hello! i am new to edditing on wikipedia, so im assuming this is asking permission to edit the wikipedia site, basically on the second paragraph - "Born and raised in Oviedo to a working class family, Alonso began kart racing aged three and won several regional, national and continental titles. He progressed to junior formulae aged 17, winning the Euro Open by Nissan in 1999 before finishing fourth in International Formula 3000. Alonso signed for Minardi in 2001, making his Formula One debut at the Australian Grand Prix. After a non-scoring rookie season, he joined Renault as a test driver before his promotion to a full-time seat in 2003; he became the then-youngest polesitter and race winner at the Malaysian and Hungarian Grands Prix, respectively, before achieving several podiums across his 2004 campaign. Alonso won his maiden title after winning seven Grands Prix in 2005, becoming the first World Drivers' Champion from Spain and the then-youngest in Formula One history, aged 24. He successfully defended his title from Michael Schumacher in 2006. Alonso moved to McLaren for 2007, finishing one point behind champion Kimi Räikkönen and returning to Renault amidst inter-team tensions. He won multiple races in 2008—including the controversial Singapore Grand Prix—before enduring a winless 2009 campaign"
- "Formulae" is the correct plural of "formula". MB2437 00:39, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
